"Parasite" star Lee Sun Kyun is in hot waters after netizens speculate that he is the celebrity behind actor "L," who is involved with drug abuse.
Various Korean outlets have been mentioning a top actor whose initials start with "L" over suspicion regarding illegal drug use.

With this, eagle-eyed netizens match the details on police reports and the actor's information, which includes his marital status, his age, and the keyword "Vongole" in reference to his previous K-drama "Pasta."
It can be recalled that as the Incheon Metropolitan Police Department started the investigation, it was revealed that the said actor was in his 40s and debuted in an MBC sitcom in 2001.
In addition, authorities also noted that "actor L" had been using marijuana on multiple occasions from January to October 2023.
Police Confirms Lee Sun Kyun's Involvement in Drug Abuse
Amid the reports regarding the said top star, netizens speculate that it is Lee Sun Kyun, who appeared in the critically acclaimed movie "Parasite."
With this, his agency made a statement addressing the issue, citing that they are "currently checking on the accurate facts about the suspicions raised towards Lee Sun Kyun."
As obtained by a news outlet, Hodu Entertainment added, "We plan to diligently and truthfully comply with the inspectors and investigations that will be carried out in the future.
In addition, the talent label also revealed that the actor has been receiving threats from a person whom they named Mr. A, blackmailing him regarding his involvement with drugs.
Due to this, Hodu Entertainment "has submitted a complaint to the investigative agency regarding this."
Following the agency's response, Incheon Police Station confirmed that "Lee Sun Kyun did marijuana and paid a huge amount of money to his drug dealer."
Moreover, the department representative furthered that they still "need to investigate" but suspect that "the reason for the extortion from his dealer was because of his fame."
Who is Lee Sun Kyun?
Amid the ongoing investigation regarding Yoo Ah In's drug charges, another top star has been involved in a serious controversy.
While he is best known as Park Dong Ik in "Parasite," the 48-year-old actor starred in a slew of K-dramas and hit movies.
