After the saddening news of Jeon So Min's departure from "Running Man," celebrities Kim Sejeong, Lee Mi Joo, and more have been nominated to fill in the actress' position in the show.

Who Will Fill In Jeon So Min's Spot in 'Running Man'?

On October 23, it was confirmed by the "Running Man" team that member Jeon So Min would officially leave the program. After a long-term discussion with the other mainstays and the production, they concluded to accept the actress' decision to depart from the team.

According to their statement and Jeon So Min's agency KingKong by Starship, she needed time to recharge for her acting career, which the "Running Man" team respectfully accepted.

Just hours after the announcement was made, the news became a hot topic on social media and other media platforms. In particular, in a forum online, Koreans created a discussion and nominated some K-stars who they see as potential to replace Jeon So Min's position in the variety show.

Kim Sejeong, Lee Mi Joo, More K-Stars Nominated to Be Part of 'Running Man'

For the contestants, K-Netz nominated singer-actress Kim Sejeong, who already showed her entertainment skills. Following her on the list is Lee Mi Joo, she's one of the stars who has established a good rapport with the "Running Man" members as she already worked with them multiple times.

Adding to the list are Yoon Bomi, Mamamoo's Solar, Red Velvet's Joy, Yerin, An Yujin, Seung Hee, Hani, Han Sun Hwa, Kang Hana, and Joo Hyun Young.

Kwang Hee, Seungkwan, Seo Eunkwang, More Added to List of Nominees

Aside from these female celebrities, K-Netz also nominated male stars who are fit to join the world of entertainment with the variety of skills that they possess. First on the list is ZE:A's Kwang Hee, apart from his singing ability, he is known for his wit and incredibly funny punch lines.

Joining the nominees is SEVENTEEN member Boo Seungkwan, after establishing his hosting skill through their group's own YouTube content show, "Going Seventeen," Seungkwan has already immersed himself in the challenging world of entertainment. He also appeared in various variety and talk shows, which continuously hone his skills.

Seo Eunkwang, Lee Yi Kyung, and Joo Woo Jae are also nominated by K-Netz whom they see as a potential member of "Running Man."

Seeing these nominees, online users have expressed their mixed reactions to who they feel will fill in Jeon So Min's spot in the show.

"It would be fun if they added Bomi. To be honest, I feel like adding an idol will show too big of a generation gap between the cast, and there will be a sense of distance, but Bomi is over 30, and she's good on variety shows too."

"They are way too young. They need to be around 30 years old to match the current member. Unless they do seasonal shows, an artist like An Yujin will be way too busy and will get unnecessary hate."

"It would be better without a new member. The original cast has been on the program for way too long now and if they pick younger members, the age gap with the old members will be way too big. 'Running Man' is not a new program and has a long history and they have guests every week so why add someone new?"
