Following Lee Sun Kyun's announcement regarding the upcoming K-drama "No Way Out," officials have selected Jo Jin Woong to join the series.
In a report cited by a local media outlet, the "Signal" star was selected to headline the series following the controversial actor's departure from the K-drama.
Jo Jin Woong's Agency Confirms Offer for 'No Way Out'
Shortly after the news broke, Jo Jin Woong's Saram Entertainment responded to the casting offer for "No Way Out."
He is best known for his role as detective Lee Jae Han in the hit K-drama "Signal," along with Kim Hye Soo and Lee Je Hoon.
In addition, he also starred in the TV show "Entourage" and the movies "Believer" and "The Policeman's Lineage."

According to a representative, the actor has "received a casting offer and is reviewing" it.
He will join fellow lead stars such as Kim Mu Yeol, Lee Kwang Soo, Yoo Jae Myung, and Taiwanese actor Greg Hsu.
If Jo Jin Woong officially confirms the drama, he will be playing the character of police officer Baek Joong Sik, one of the main characters, who is said to be Lee Sun Kyun.
Unfortunately, Lee Sun Kyun had to step down from the K-drama due to the current situation that he is facing.
What Happened to Lee Sun Kyun?
The "Parasite" star has been making headlines for his involvement with Durg.
After the Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency's Narcotics Crime Investigation Unit confirmed that Lee Sun Kyun is "actor L", police have started the investigation for violating the Drugs Control Act.
At the time, authorities said they had discovered the actor's involvement due to their "drug-related activities primarily within entertainment establishments in Gangnam."
As soon as the news broke, Lee Sun Kyun's agency, HODU&U Entertainment, released a statement addressing the actor's issue.
Per a local news outlet, the label has promised to commit fully and cooperate in the ongoing investigation "with utmost sincerity and honesty in the future."
In addition, the actor also "filed a complaint with the law enforcement agency against individual A for continuous blackmail and threats."
Unfortunately, Lee Sun Kyun is not the only one affected by the drug issue.
The actor's wife, Jeon Hye Jin, is also suffering the consequences that her husband is facing.
At the height of the issue, brands featuring the couple have pulled their endorsements from official websites.
Outlets also noted that Lee Sun Kyun and his wife, Jeon Hye Jin, might face hefty penalties due to a breach of contract.
As for the investigation, the actor is also banned from leaving South Korea until the investigation has concluded.
