Geum Sae Rok is parting ways with HighZium Studio after being with the agency for two years.
The actress, best known for her roles in "The Fiery Priest" and "Youth of May," is now a free agent.
Geum Sae Rok Ends Contract With HighZium Studio
In an exclusive report by News1 Korea, Geum Sae Rok has decided not to renew her contract.
Despite this, HighZium Studio and the actress promised to support each other's future.
Geum Sae Rok joined HighZium Studio, which houses Song Joong Ki and Kim Ji Won, in December 2021 after leaving her previous agency, UL Entertainment, where she stayed for 5 years.
The actress made her debut in 2018 after joining the cast of "Paparazzi Girlfriend," followed by KBS2's rom-com medical K-drama "Marry Me Now."
Interestingly, the hit K-drama "The Fiery Priest," starring Kim Nam Gil, gained Geum Sae Rok a lot of attention as she took on the role of Seo Seung Ah, Gudam Police Station's rookie detective.
She then proved how versatile she is as an actress after joining Go Min Si and Lee Do Hyun in the melodrama "Youth of May," where she portrayed the role of rich activist Lee Soo Ryun.
Viewers once again witnessed her acting prowess in the romance K-drama "The Interest of Love" as she played lead star Park Mi Kyung, alongside Moon Ga Young, Yoo Yeon Seok, and Jung Ga Ram.
What's Next for Geum Sae Rok?
Other than leaving HighZium Studio and being a free agent, Geum Sae Rok will be returning to the small screen with an interesting project.
Headlining the upcoming Disney+ drama "Soundtrack #2," it is a sequel to Han So Hee and Park Hyung Sik's series, released in March 2022.
In the upcoming K-drama, Geum Sae Rok will work together with Noh Sang Hyun, or Steve Noh, who gained fame for his role in "Pachinko."
Helmed by Choi Jung Gyu of "The Devil Judge" and Kim Hee Won of "Vincenzo" and "Little Women," "Soundtrack #2" depicts the story of a former couple who meet again by chance.
The Disney+ series is a representation of realistic romance between two exes who are given the option to rekindle their romance or leave it as it is.
In the upcoming romance K-drama, Geum Sae Rok plays as a piano tutor Hyun Seo. She is passionate about music but had to give up her dream.
As for Steve Noh, he takes on the role of Hyun Seo's longtime boyfriend, Soo Ho. The duo met in college but dealt with breakups in some instances.
Geum Sae Rok and Steve Noh's new drama is scheduled to hit Disney+ in the second half of 2023.
