After more than a year since the news broke regarding RAIN and Kim Tae Hee's stalker, the prosecution has released an update following a trial.

While sasaeng is a Korean term to describe an obsessive fan, the entertainment industry is not new to these individuals who invade the privacy of Korean idols and drama actors; unfortunately, the celebrity couple have been victimized multiple times.

In hopes of ending their misery from being stalked by fans, RAIN and Kim Tae Hee reported the incident to the police, where Seoul Yongsan Police Station has arrested a 47-year-old woman for harassing the celebrity couple and invading their privacy.

Kim Tae Hee, RAIN's Stalker, Sentenced to 1 Year in Prison

As the couple took legal action, the prosecution has sentenced A, referring to the stalker, to one year in prison on charges of causing emotional damage to the family.

According to a media outlet, Judge Kang Young Ki of Criminal Division 9 of the Seoul Western District Court also ordered the 47-year-old woman to undergo and complete a stalking treatment program.

The report also cited that A did not appear at the court trial twice but proceeded with the hearing without her.

It can be recalled that the people visited RAIN and Kim Tae Hee's homes on 14 occasions from March to October 2021.

The stalker would ring the doorbell, causing disturbance to the celebrity's private life. In addition, this is also a violation of the Stalking Punishment Act.

Reports also mentioned at that time that the woman ignored the warnings and returned to the couple's residence on February 27, where she was arrested on the spot after knocking on the door and persistently ringing the doorbell.

A month later, it was also reported that the individual went to the beauty salon, where the couple would often go to continue to invade their privacy.

The celebrity couple then ended up selling their house after the stalking incident.

Celebrities Who Were Victimized by Stalkers

Rain and Kim Tae Hee are just among a number of celebrities being targeted by these obsessed fans.

Park Seo Joon mentioned in an interview that he experienced being stalked by a fan for 2 months.

"When you leave the parking lot, but you see the same car constantly following you?" the "Itaewon Class" star said, adding, "They even know where I am about to go, and there are times when they arrive there before me."

Twice's Nayeon also had an experience with a Sasaeng fan and had her agency, JYP Entertainment, take legal action against the German fan who repeatedly went to the agency's headquarters.
