Cha Ji Yeon confessed about her experience doing a musical while she was pregnant.

Best known as an award-winning musical actress, the 41-year-old beauty captured the hearts of viewers with her exceptional performances in "Scent of a Woman," "Remarriage & Desires," and as the villainess in "Taxi Driver."

Despite her status in the industry, she also has her fair share of unforgettable stories that she wants to dismiss from her mind.

During her appearance in Channel A's "Best Friend Talkumentary Table for Four," she revealed a heartbreaking story she endured while working as a musical actress, and, at the same time, pregnant with her firstborn.

Cha Ji Yeon Shares Heartbreaking Story About Pregnancy, Working as Musical Actress

Recalling her experience, Cha Ji Yeon got pregnant in 2016 and was still working as a musical actress until the 7th month of her pregnancy.

The actress said that she was taking necessary precautions despite choosing to continue her performances.

According to her, she and her husband, who were just in their early stages of marriage, were not trying to get pregnant since she was also scheduled for a performance.

However, they saw it as a blessing, adding that the baby on the way was "the will of heaven."

Of course, among the group of people who first knew her status were the staff at her musical show, who promised to deliver a flawless performance despite her pregnancy.

Unfortunately, instead of getting the usual positive reaction, Cha Ji Yeon received a totally opposite response.

"Normally, it would have been very nice if that person said 'Congratulations' first, but they just asked me, 'What are you doing? You are no longer a middle or high school student. '"

Moreover, the musical actress said that she was stunned to hear such negative comments, which made her promise to "never cause damage to the team."

As her belly got bigger, Cha Ji Yeon had to deal with pregnancy blues, such as stomach and hormone problems.

"I ran around more because I didn't want anyone to notice that I had a baby. I suffered uterine contractions and cried alone backstage, saying, 'Mom is so sorry."

Being a professional and wanting to deliver a quality show, she managed to ace scenes that she needed to attach to the wire.

"I tried to not cause damage to anyone, so I felt very lonely. Thinking about the musical 'Wicked' made me feel upset."

In 2015, Cha Ji Yeon said yes to fellow musical performer Yoon Eun Chae and was blessed by a son.

On the other hand, she made her musical debut in 2006 after joining "The Lion King," where she took on the role of the wise monkey Rafiki, who is also an advisor to the king.

After this, she managed to land various musical projects, which include "Dream Girls," "Wicked," "Red Book," and "Seopyeonje: The Southerners' Songs."
