Lee Hyeri and Woo Do Hwan will be the next screen tandem to debut soon as they confirmed their participation in the movie "Tropical Night."
'Tropical Night' Confirmed to Have Lee Hyeri & Woo Do Hwan as Leads
PlusM Entertainment unveiled the final cast members of its upcoming film "Tropical Night." The distributor of the project announced on January 24 that Woo Do Hwan, Jang Dong Gun, Lee Hyeri, Park Sung Hoon, Kim Min Seok, and Kim Min have come together to headline the said movie.
It has been said that the cast and crew will start filming in Bangkok on January 25.
"Tropical Night" is an action film that follows the story of Ari, a former K-pop girl group leader, who shifts jobs and works now as a pole dancer at a street club in Bangkok.
What We Know So Far About Action Movie 'Tropical Night'
Woo Do Hwan is Tae Kang, a former professional boxer who works as a collector for Thailand's largest drug organization and runs different illegal martial arts gambling establishments.
The actor plans to captivate the audience by showing off his intense acting in this work.
Hyeri takes the role of Ari, a dancer and a former member of a girl group but starts to live a different life in Bangkok with Tae Kang.
Jang Dong Gun plays Baek Do Jun, an Interpol dispatched to Thailand. He is tasked to eradicate a drug organization in Bangkok without investigative authority. The veteran actor who radiates a strong presence in various works such as "Arthdal Chronicles," "Suits" "Gentleman's Dignity" and more will perfectly portray his character who has a strong determination and will bring tension to the play.
Park Sung Hoon takes the character of Man Su, a salesman for a Korean drug organization in Bangkok. Kim Min is Man Su's twin brother and business partner. Lastly, Kim Min Seok to challenge himself to portray the character of a drug dealer.
Hyeri Receives Mixed Reactions for Her Role in 'Tropical Night'
Previously, Lee Hyeri became a hot topic online after K-netizens expressed their disapproval of her role as a pole dancer in this movie. Others said that it might negatively affect her image as an actress.
However, others are also looking forward to seeing Hyeri's challenging character and how the actress will deliver the role despite the mixed reactions she received ahead of the movie's production.
