Park Min Young mentioned the physical transformation she underwent for her K-drama comeback "Marry My Husband," where she now portrays a challenging character.
Following her successful back-to-back rom-com series in 2022, the Hallyu queen returned as the revenge-driven wife in the web-based series.
In "Marry My Husband," Park Min Young portrays Kang Ji Won, a terminally-ill patient who gets cheated by her husband with her best friend.
To perfectly portray the character, the actress went to greater lengths and had to go through an extreme weight loss journey to visually create the image of Kang Ji Won.
However, Park Min Young's diet method surprised the public after she dropped 37 kilos for her new project. She mentioned in her past interviews that she reduced her food intake and got through the day with electrolyte drinks.

As mentioned by Elle Korea, the 37-year-old actress went honest about the whole process of her weight loss.
Discussing the aftereffects of it that she did, Park Min Young emphasized that she "absolutely does not recommend" the diet method that she did.

According to a medical outlet, the effects of an extreme diet include fatigue, gallbladder disease, malnutrition, depression, an increased risk of developing eating disorders, regaining any weight loss achieved, and more.
In addition to this, the actress also responded to concerns raised by fans.
"As I am older, I also had doubts about whether I would be able to devote all my passion to a character like this."
However, as an actress, Park Min Young creates a physique that is suited for the role. In the past, she has mentioned focusing on self-management to alter her appearance based on the image of her role.
To recall, the actress worked out a lot in preparation for her role in "What's Wrong with Secretary Kim" alongside Park Seo Joon.
"I exercised every day for four months and ate chicken breast to reduce body fat and increase strength," she said, adding that she lost "about 4 kg," but others think that she shed "about 6 to 7 kg."
'Marry My Husband' Continues to Garner High Ratings
As the revenge drama enters its second half, viewers are tuned in to witness how Kang Ji Won's plan unfolds.
According to Nielsen Korea, "Marry My Husbands" ended the first half of the season with number 1 ratings after the series scored an average nationwide viewership rating of 8.6 percent.
Not only that, Park Min Young's drama has been receiving global popularity and is among the most watched K-drama on Prime Video.
