Park Hae Soo, Kim Tae Hee To Possibly Headline Amazon Prime's 'Butterfly'

Best known for his role in "Squid Game," Park Hae Soo is in talks to portray the main character in "Butterfly," alongside Hallyu star Kim Tae.

According to drama officials, if they officially accept the offer, they will join starring Korean-American actor Daniel Dae Kim, who is set to take on the role of David Jeong, a former U.S. intelligence agent living in Korea.

Given that "Butterfly" is his first lead role, Daniel Dae Kim wonders how meaningful it is since the original series is set in Korea.

Moreso, the upcoming K-drama is Amazon Prime's original series, which will have six episodes in one season.

Based on the graphic novel of the same name, "Butterfly" is filmed in South Korea with dialogue in both Korean and English.

On the other hand, drama and broadcast officials have yet to announce the target release date of the upcoming series, but fans are looking forward to seeing Park Hae Soo and Kim Tae Hee in one frame.

Park Hae Soo & Kim Tae Hee's Current & Upcoming K-dramas

Meanwhile, Park Hae Soo is set to return to the small screen with another interesting series. Apart from the upcoming Amazon Prime original series, the versatile actor is selected to portray the lead role in Netflix's thriller-crime drama "Karma."

Helmed and written by Lee Il Hyung of "A Violent Prosecutor," the forthcoming show is based on the webtoon of the same name.

"Karma," which will premiere on Netflix in 2024, depicts the story of a group of people caught in an unexpectedly evil relationship. Due to this, they destroy each other to fulfill their own desires.

Joining Park Hae Soo are a slew of notable celebrities: Shin Min Ah, Lee Kwang Soo, Lee Hee Joon, Kim Sung Kyun, and more.

While Park Hae Soo stars in back-to-back projects, Kim Tae Hee recently gained attention after making a special cameo. The Hallyu star surprised viewers as she took on the role of herself in the drama "Welcome to Samdalri."

Viewers were delighted to see Kim Tae Hee act alongside Shin Hye Sun.

In addition, her ageless beauty shone despite only having a small role.

Interestingly, her special appearance in the drama is her way of supporting the writer.

Kwon Hye Joo, who penned "Welcome To Samdalri," is also the genius behind the hit 2020 K-drama "Hi Bye, Mama," where Kim Tae Hee played the lead role.
