Kim Hee Ae gets emotional as she talks about her experience filming the hit K-drama "The World of the Married."

The renowned actress took the world by storm by portraying the character of Ji Sun Woo, a family medicine doctor who seemed to have a perfect family and life-until she discovered her husband's affair.

Interestingly, the series is Kim Hee Ae's comeback to the small screen after the 2016 romance life drama "Second to Last Love."

As the award-winning star returns to K-drama, she bagged various recognitions for her role in "The World of the Married."

Of course, this includes the 2020 Baeksang Arts Award for Best Leading Actress, surpassing equally talented stars like Son Ye Jin (Crash Landing on You), Kim Hye Soo for "Hyena," and Gong Hyo Jin for "When the Camellia Blooms."

Almost four years after the K-drama wrapped up, Kim Hee Ae was emotional, recalling the experience she had in "The World of the Married."

During her appearance on Jang Do Yeon's Youtube channel, along with "Dead Man" co-star Cho Jin Woong, the host mentioned a heartwarming gesture during the last filming day of "The World of the Married."

Jang Do Yeon mentioned that juniors lined up to hug at the end of filming.

Trying to fight back her tears, Kim Hee Ae acknowledges how honored she is and "was so happy" at that moment.

"It was such an honor. I thought, 'How can a person have such a peak moment in life like this?'" she said, as obtained by a media outlet.

Expressing her deep gratitude, Kim Hee Ae felt the respect that her junior co-stars gave her throughout the production.

"Even after all these years, why am I still tearing up? At the time, I didn't realize it. I thought, 'Are they suddenly treating me like a senior?' Looking back, I now realize how precious that moment was and how incredibly happy I felt."

Jo Jin Woong couldn't help but chime in and say that he could feel that "there are some very touching moments," to which the actress said that it was "the best gift" of her life.

In "The World of the Married," Kim Hee Ae is joined by Park Hae Joon, who played her on-screen husband Lee Tae Oh, who cheated on a younger woman, Yeo Da Kyung, played by then-newbie actress Han So Hee.

Because of the drama's popularity, the series was nominated for various awards and won two Baeksang Arts Awards in 2022.

Beside Kim Hee Ae's Best Actress trophy, Mo Wan Il was awarded Best Director.
