After its groundbreaking impact during its premiere in December 2023, Netflix Korea raises the bar to a new level as a new season is finally coming to the screens this summer.
Following the announcement of the production, a glimpse into the work was shared, suggesting Park Seo Joon and Han So Hee's continuous journey to the truth.
'Gyeongseong Creature 2' To Take Place In Modern Day South Korea
Park Seo Joon and Han So Hee's enthralling drama "Gyeongseong Creature" returns with a second season, extending its narrative from the big year of 1945 to modern day Seoul.
On February 2, the Netflix series released a preview, taking viewers through a leap in time as it revealed a character Ho Jae who resembles Jang Tae Sang, played by Park Seo Joon.
However, he has a scar on his face, raising the tension for the upcoming release. Season 1 captivated the audiences with its unique mixture of period piece and sci-fi elements.
In Season 2, a different kind of mystery is promised to the viewers. Director Jung Dong Yoon described it as a "story with a different charm that expands the universe with clearer distinction."
'Gyeongseong Creature 2' Release Date & Where To Watch It
"Gyeongseong Creature 2" is in its final production process after completing its filming in November 2022.
Besides Park Seo Joon and Han So Hee in the main ensemble, rising actor Bae Hyun Sung and award-winning actor Lee Moo Saeng confirmed their participation in the work.
With this star-studded casting lineup, a much larger and dynamic story is guaranteed to the audiences. Season 1 ranked first in South Korea three days after its release, topping Netflix's Global Top 10.
It also received high reception in more than 20 countries including India, the Philippines, Thailand, Taiwan, Singapore and more.
"Gyeongseong Creature 2" is expected to be released in the summer of 2024. However, there's still no news of its exact release date so stay tuned for more updates.
