Viewers seemed unimpressed by the update on "Marry My Husband" after the webtoon-based K-drama added BoA as one of the characters.

The singer-actress joined Park Min Young, Lee Yi Kyung, Na In Woo, and Song Ha Yoon in the tvN's revenge drama. Entering "Marry My Husband" on episode 11, she was introduced as Yoo Ra, a chaebol's daughter who will shake the romantic relationship between Kang Ji Won (Park Min Young) and Yoo Ji Hyuk (Na In Woo).

BoA's 'Marry My Husband' Participation Garners Unpleasant Reactions

The singer-actress returns to K-drama after seven years since she headlined the rom-com series "My Wife's Having an Affair This Week."

However, BoA's K-drama comeback is receiving mixed reactions from viewers.

In a post on an online forum, netizens expressed how they were disappointed in her character and, at the same time, the actress' performance.

Some described the recent episode as "boring," while others said that putting BoA's character in "Marry My Husband" ruined the adaptation.

Moreover, some were annoyed with how the story progressed as the revenge K-drama heads to the finale.

As mentioned, "Marry My Husband" is based on the webtoon of the same name that depicts the story of a revenge-driven woman Kang Ji Won.

Her eagerness for vengeance stems after she experienced betrayal from her husband, Park Min Hwan (Lee Yi Kyung), and best friend, Jung Soo Min (Song Ha Yoon), for having a secret affair.

The incident occurs while Kang Ji Won is battling a terminal illness. However, following a shocking accident, Ji Won is given an opportunity to correct her fate. With her second shot at life, she uses this to get back at the people who wronged her.

Kang Ji Won is thankful for her boss, Yoo Ji Hyuk (Na In Woo), who is also dealing with the same fate as hers.

But did you know that in the webtoon, Yoo Ra's character was removed?

With this, viewers speculated that her character was omitted from the original webtoon because it lacked significance in the story.

'Marry My Husband' Viewership Declines

Sadly, "Marry My Husband" viewership rating showed a slight drop in rating.

After hitting an all-time high of 11.8 percent average nationwide rating for episode 11, the 12th episode featured a decrease in rating after landing an average nationwide viewership rating of 10.5 percent. It also showed that there was a 1.3 percent decrease from episodes 11 and 12 alone.

Despite this, Nielsen Korea shared that "Marry My Husband" is still the most watched K-drama on its time slot.
