Song Joong Ki & Choi Sung Eun Lose Will To Live In New Netflix Film
On February 16, a new set of teaser for Netflix's "My Name Is Loh Kiwan" was released, much to the fans' excitement.
Based on the popular novel of the same name, the film tells the romantic tryst between a North Korean defector and a professional shooter who find hope in each other in a foreign land.
Song Joong Ki takes on the titular role of Loh Kiwan, a North Korean defector who falls in love with Marie, a Belgian-Korean woman who has given up on life.
"My Name Is Loh Kiwan" marks the two actors' first-ever project together which heightened the viewers' excitement for the show. Ahead of its premiere, new teasers were released.
The poster features Loh Kiwan and Marie who both exude a melancholic aura. The loneliness that the two are feeling manifested through the poster which reads, "Daunting life in an unfamiliar land."
In addition, the question "Do we deserve happiness?" is written at the bottom of the poster, hinting at the cold reality that the two face while they're in Europe.
With this, curiosity is raised as to how Loh Kiwan and Marie, who are each other's polar opposites, will be able to find comfort and hope in one another.
'My Name Is Loh Kiwan' Drops Enticing Film Preview
Accompanying the teaser poster is a brief preview, glimpsing into the lives of Loh Kiwan and Marie.
The clip begins as a desperate Loh Kiwan leaves for Belgium as a refugee, which is his final hope in life. He looks scrappy, realistically showing the difficult life he's living.
Later on, Marie, who has given up in life, appears in front of Loh Kiwan and steals his wallet. The two eventually meet at the police station to settle their issue.
She learns that the wallet she stole is the only thing that reminds Loh Kiwan of his mother, and soon becomes attracted to him as she sees herself in his place, evoking a heartwarming feeling.
