SBS dropped exciting news as Uhm Ki Joon, Hwang Jung Eum, and the rest of the cast will return for "The Resurrection of the Seven."

A sequel to the 2023 makjang series "The Escape of the Seven," viewers will get to see a game of revenge between seven individuals.

SBS Announces 'The Resurrection of the Seven' Release Date, Script Reading Featuring Lead Stars

Gearing for the much-awaited return, SBS unveiled a sneak peek of "The Resurrection of the Seven" script reading. The cast reunited for a table read on March 29, where they showed off flawless performances.

"The Resurrection of the Seven" screenwriter Kim Soon Ok, as well as the main characters Uhm Ki Joon, Hwang Jung Eum, Lee Joon, Lee Yoo Bi, Shin Eun Kyung, Yoon Jong Hoon, Jo Yoon Hee, Jo Jae Yoon, Yoon Tae Young, and Lee Jung Shin, were present at the script reading.

Other than the table read, SBS announced that the upcoming sequel is slated to premiere on March 29. Interestingly, this raised anticipation for what to expect in the upcoming K-drama.

'The Resurrection of the Seven' Details

From the makers of the iconic "The Penthouse" trilogy, director Joo Dong Min and screenwriter Kim Soon Ok, teamed up to create another revenge drama series.

While "The Escape of the Seven" focused on the unexpected secrets and betrayal involving Bang Da Mi's (Jung Lael) death.

Seven individuals struggle to survive bloody punishment and revenge as they face a hated murder case.

As for the upcoming sequel, "The Resurrection of the Seven" is a deep dive into the counterattack and powerful alliance of seven individuals who experienced chaotic lives at the hands of Matthew Lee (Uhm Ki Joon).

In addition, with Mon Do Hyuk's (Lee Joon) true identity was exposed, raising the question of how he will avenge his family and biological father, who were killed because of Matthew Lee's greed.

With this, the production team hints at what to expect in The Resurrection of the Seven."

It will highlight Matthew Lee's "unstoppable evil deeds," adding that a "more exciting story will unfold in the reset version of revenge."

Piquing the interest of viewers, SBS released the first look at the forthcoming Makjang series.

In the video, Matthew Lee unleashed a warning, saying, "No matter how wild you are, this is not an opponent you can handle.

With conviction, the antagonist noted, "People in this world only believe what powerful people say," to which Geum Ra Hee predicted, "There will be a traitor among us."
