Viewers are drawn to the amazing protagonists and villains of beloved K-dramas, but actors who could do both are on a different level.
Giving the fans a top-tier performance, these K-drama actors captivate us with their ability to swoon viewers with their visuals and charismatic characters.
Interestingly, they could also slay antagonistic roles with their daunting vibe and dashingly debonair looks.
With that said, check out these four K-drama actors who could perfectly portray both hero and villain roles.
Lee Yi Kyung
He is best known for his role as Lee Joon Ki in "Welcome to Waikiki," which also started the viral "Gwenchana" meme.
From his slew of comedy K-dramas, viewers were surprised to see Lee Yi Kyung slay the villain character in "Marry My Husband."
Taking on the role of Park Min Young's cheating husband, he described his character as "the baddest among the bad guys."
During his interview in "My Little Old Boy," the actor revealed that 90 percent of the people he meets think he is a bad guy and often receive violent remarks from his neighbors, but this only showed how effective Lee Yi Kyung is as a villain.
Go Kyung Pyo
Before Lee Yi Kyung, Park Min Young teamed up with Go Kyung Pyo as the male lead in the rom-com "Love in Contract."
The versatile star played Jung Ji Ho, who is a longtime client of Choi Sang Eun.
Viewers were delighted to see the chemistry between the two and looked forward to seeing them in season 2.
However, as viewers waited for the possibility of the series returning with a sequel, Go Kyung Pyo headlined the mystery crime K-drama "Connect" with Jung Hae In.
From his charming character in "Love in Contract," the actor surprised fans with his opposite role, as he portrays a serial killer named Oh Jin Seop.
In his appearance on Junggigo's YouTube show, Go Kyung Pyo shared that he tried not to show his true personality on-screen and even on his social media to be able to portray different kinds of roles.
"I was concerned that knowing what I'm like might make it hard for people to see me as a character when they watch my project."
Lee Soo Hyuk
The South Korean heartthrob played the villain role not just once but twice.
With his dapper and fierce visuals, it's no surprise how Lee Soo Hyuk was able to pull off the villain character.
Among his antagonistic characters is the vampire Gwi in "Scholar Who Walks the Night."
Lee Soo Hyuk's deep voice and unique facial features made it easy for him to exude the evilness of his character.
In addition to this, he also takes on the character of Park Joong Gil, the leader of the Grim Reaper department in "Tomorrow."
Other than his villain role, Lee Soo Hyuk portrayed Park Bo Young's colleague and editorial team leader, Cha Joo Ik.
Ahn Bo Hyun
Last on the list is Ahn Bo Hyun, whose popularity sparked after joining as the villain in Park Seo Joon's drama "Itaewon Class."
He played Jang Geun Won, the heir to one of Korea's biggest conglomerates who thinks he is above the law.
Interestingly, he transformed into chaebol son turned detective Jin Yi Soo in "Flex X Cop."
