Kang Ki Young On Becoming Hallyu's New Leading Man
Kang Ki Young's legal romance series "Queen of Divorce" with Lee Ji Ah finally wrapped up its season after six amazing weeks.
In the recently concluded show, the actor reinvented his image as a charming leading man after taking on his first-ever major acting role.
He hasn't digested being a new leading man in Hallyu. He expressed his gratitude to the fans who supported "Queen of Divorce," saying, "It was an honor to return with an exciting work."
In addition, the actor gained great courage after transforming into a leading man after years of playing supporting roles. He was able to showcase a variety of sides of himself.
Kang Ki Young showed the complex yet subtle emotions of a man who reunited with his ex-lover after nine years of separation, thanks to his sound acting skills.
Kang Ki Young chose the scene where his character Dong Ki Joon and Lee Ji Ah's Kim Sa Ra called a truce, and became business partners in Solutions as divorce lawyers.
"It was the time that rekindled the broken relationship between the ex-lovers," Kang Ki Young said. "It's an unforgettable moment for me, thanks to its impact and heartwarming elements."
Kang Ki Young Reveals Dream Project As Actor
To date, "Extraordinary Attorney Woo," "The Uncanny Counter" and "Queen of Divorce" are Kang Ki Young's most note-worthy works.
From being a supporting role to a cunning villain and now a charming leading man, Kang Ki Young completely diversified his acting genre, much to the fans' delight.
As for his dream role, he wishes to take on the horror and thriller genre. He reasoned, "I want to try any work that allows me to showcase my skill set and chemistry with my partner."
