Kim Ha Neul Expresses Excitement On K-drama Return
After eight years, Kim Ha Neul is once again decorating the KBS screens with her romance thriller series "Nothing Uncovered."
In the press conference for the series, the actress got candid on what to expect from her newest K-drama where she plays a passionate journalist who gets involved in a cold bloody murder.
According to Kim Ha Neul, she took on the acting challenge as a way to reinvent her career as an actress from only playing sophisticated characters; she now delves into the thriller genre.
The investigative part of the show is the actress' favorite element. She reasoned, "The part where we have to find the culprit of a murder case sounded so appealing to me, that's why I chose to star in the series. I hope everyone loves it."
In particular, the romance that is interpolated in the narrative is also a factor to check out. Kim Ha Neul doesn't believe that romance and murder could work together but the director of the show proved her otherwise.
"My beliefs changed while working on the show," she admitted. "It was interesting to see how seamless it was to delve into the emotions of three people who are acquainted with one another."
Kim Ha Neul On K-drama Clash With Kim Nam Joo, Lee Bo Young
Interestingly, it's not only Kim Ha Neul who wanted a change for her acting spectrum as Kim Nam Joo and Lee Bo Young returned with female led thriller works this 2024.
While Kim Ha Neul stars in "Nothing Uncovered," the other two actresses headline "Wonderful World" and "Hide," respectively.
"The dramas have similar feelings but the color and texture of the work are extremely different," KIm Ha Neul stated. "The "three-way battle" between us is so burdensome."
According to her, there's no need to "compete" as the shows air on different days and on different cable channels. However, she's confident that fans will love her series due to its jam-packed elements.
Catch "Nothing Uncovered" every Monday and Tuesday at 10:10 p.m. KST on KBS.
