After teasing the public with an upcoming official statement, Kim Sae Ron has finally responded to her dating controversy with Kim Soo Hyun.
Unfortunately, it appears like her response is different from what the public expected.
Kim Sae Ron Statement on Dating Issue With Kim Soo Hyun Angers Fans
Kim Sae Ron told the local media outlet My Daily that she wouldn't be making any statements regarding the controversial photo.
"I really thought hard about myself, and I feel that it would help me to be silent. I will not be making a statement and will no longer comment."
To recall, the former teen star previously hinted that she would be releasing her statement soon after finalizing it, which made the public look forward to it.
With her new statement saying that she will not respond to the viral photo, netizens are lashing out at the "Bloodhounds" star, accusing her of being an "attention seeker."
While some are furious about Kim Sae Ron's unacceptable action, fans feel sorry for Kim Soo Hyun, whose name was dragged into the issue.
It can be recalled that the whole controversy started after Kim Sae Ron "accidentally" uploaded a photo of her with the "It's Okay Not to Be Okay" star with their cheeks pressed against each other, suggesting that they are close friends.
Kim Sae Ron immediately took down the photo, but netizens were quick to screen-grab it.
Amid the issue, Kim Soo Hyun's agency, Gold Medalist, released a statement denying that the actor is romantically involved with Kim Sae Ron.
"The photos circulating online appear to have been taken when they belonged to the same agency in the past, and the intentions behind Kim Sae Ron's actions are entirely unclear."
In addition, the label called the dating rumors "groundless" and said that they are planning to take legal action against malicious content towards the actor.
"Our agency will strongly respond through legal representatives at a law firm to any malicious defamation and insulting posts that damage the actor's character and reputation."
Kim Soo Hyun Drama 'Queen of Tears' Experiences Major Boost in Rating
On the other hand, the rom-com K-drama "Queen of Tears," which stars Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Ji Won, received a significant increase in viewership after Kim Sae Ron accidentally shared the viral photo.
Per report, Nielsen Korea recorded an average nationwide rating of 14.068 percent in "Queen of Tears''episode 6, making it the most watched K-drama in its time slot.
Interestingly, the 6th episode is 3.1 percent higher than the previous episode, with a nationwide rating of 10.964 percent.
