Choi Siwon and Lee Tae Hwan are making a K-drama comeback through the new rom-com series "DNA Lover."
The two are among the stars who will headline the upcoming series.
'DNA Lover' Cast and Release Date
In a report, the TV Chosun K-drama unveiled the lineup for the rom-com "DNA Lover." Choi Siwon, Jung In Sun, Lee Tae Hwan, and Jung Eugene are officially confirmed to play the main characters slated to premiere in June.
Helmed by "Kairos" and "Tomorrow" director Sung Chi Wook, along with "Born Again" screenwriter Jung Soo Mi, the forthcoming rom-com follows the story of a talented genetic researcher who has no luck when it comes to relationships. She then finds a way to find romance through the use of genetics.
Choi Siwon takes on the role of obstetrician and gynecologist Shim Yeon Woo, who has superior social intelligence and could easily capture the hearts of women with his charm.
However, he immediately breaks up as soon as he senses that the relationship is getting serious.
Meanwhile, Jung In Sun plays the character of Han So Jin, a gene center researcher who is obsessed with finding her through her research on genetics.
As for Lee Tae Hwan, he portrays the role of handsome firefighter Seo Kang Hoon, who is also Han So Jin's best friend.
Lastly, Jung Eugene takes on the character of Jung Mi Eun, a love columnist and Shim Yeon Woo's ex-girlfriend.
The upcoming K-drama is Lee Tae Hwan's first project after completing military service.
To recall, he enlisted in the military in June 2022 and completed his service duty on December 26, 2023, making "DNA Lover" his first K-drama post-discharge.
His last on-screen appearance was the JTBC melodrama "Thirty-Nine" with Son Ye Jin, Jeon Mi Do, Kim Ji Hyun, Yeon Woo Jin, and Lee Moo Saeng.
As for Choi Siwon, "DNA Lover" is his K-drama comeback after "Blood Hounds" and "Death's Game."

Other than the upcoming rom-com, fans will see Choi Siwon in the forthcoming comedy movie "Forbidden Fairytale" with veteran actors Sung Dong Il and Park Ji Hyun.
Like "DNA Lover," the upcoming movie is also his return to the big screen after "Super Junior: The Last Man Standing," released in 2023.
In addition to this, he is also in talks for another K-drama, "Planners Capital," with Jung Da Bin and Kim Yo Han.
Besides the on-screen project, Choi Siwon is also active as UNICEF East Asia and Pacific's regional ambassador.
The South Korean star uses his platform with 8.7 million followers to actively promote and educate the public regarding the organization's mission.
