Lee Dong Hwi gets honest as he talks about his working relationship with "Chief Detective 1958" co-star Lee Je Hoon.
The duo takes on the roles of senior detectives Park Young Han and Kim Sang Soon, who work at the Jongnam Police Station Investigation Unit 2.
The 10-part episode series showcases their chemistry as a group, along with Choi Woo Sung and Yoon Hyun Soo, who play rookie detectives Cho Kyung Hwan and Seo Ho Jeong.
During Lee Dong Hwi's interview with the media, he mentioned what it's like to be working alongside Lee Je Hoon and, at the same time, join his agency.

In news obtained by a media outlet, LeeDong Hwi revealed that he signed an exclusive contract with Lee Je Hoon's agency, COMPANY ON, in the middle of the "Chief Detective 1958" production.
Being his co-star and, at the same time, the CEO of the talent label, the actor confessed that he had some apprehensions, especially being around Lee Je Hoon.
"I feel unsure about how to behave around him since he's the CEO of my agency. I'm simply not used to acting and making mistakes in front of my agency CEO," he said, adding that it might be "embarrassing" to make mistakes.
Lee Dong Hwi then shared the kind of CEO, friend, and colleague Lee Je Hoon is and described him as a warm and very supportive person.
"He willingly steps out of his comfort zone to promote my work and offer support. He even integrates my independent film promotions into his own YouTube content, providing assistance."
Through COMPANY ON, the actor says that he has "finally found my home" because of his "Chief Detective 1958" co-star.
"He always warmly discusses my concerns and direction, walking alongside me on my journey," he added.
When asked about his decision to transfer to Lee Je Hoon's agency, the "Reply 1988" star mentioned that it all started when they had a "heartfelt conversation."
Lee Dong Hwi was happy after Lee Je Hoon agreed to support him in focusing more on doing independent films, even if it would not bring profit to the company.
"He readily agreed and assured me that the proceeds from independent films wouldn't go to the company. He promised full support. I was so grateful that if I had a handkerchief, I would have wiped away tears with it."

As mentioned, the duo headlined "Chief Detective 1958," which is a prequel to the iconic "Chief Inspector" that aired from 1971 to 1989.
The series focuses on their journey to combat crimes and increase the success rate of Jongnam Police Station.
