After wrapping up with its finale, "Queen of Tears" became the new title-holder of the highest drama rating in tvN's history, replacing "Crash Landing on You."

'Queen of Tears' Earns New Title in tvN's History After Triumphant Finale

Park Ji Eun once again impressed the public with her masterpiece "Queen of Tears."

Following its finale on April 28, the series accomplished a new milestone as the newest work to achieve the highest drama rating in tvN's history.

"Queen of Tears" officially broke "Crash Landing on You's" finale episode rating.

According to Nielsen Korea, Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Ji Won's romantic series recorded an average score of 24.9 percent nationwide in Episode 16, smashing Son Ye Jin and Hyun Bin's drama's rating record of 21.6 percent in February 2020.

The newly-concluded weekend series has proved its influence and global popularity not just through its viewership ratings, but also through its cast.

Since its premiere in March, Park Ji Eun's series immediately became the center of discussions in multiple media and online platforms, causing a huge buzz in Korea and abroad.

'Queen of Tears,' Lead Stars Kim Soo Hyun & Kim Ji Won, More Dominate Buzzworthy Rankings for 7 Weeks

The overflowing love and support of fans and viewers for "Queen of Tears" and its stars were hugely felt every week.

According to Good Data Corporation (the organization that determines each week's rankings by gathering data from news articles, blog posts, online communities, videos, and social media about dramas that are currently airing or yet to be released), "Queen of Tears" remains No. 1 as the most-buzzworthy drama for seven consecutive weeks.

Aside from the series, its stars also dominate the most popular K-actors list for seven weeks.

In particular, five of this week's top 10 spots were occupied by the "Queen of Tears" cast.

Kim Soo Hyun maintains his reign at No. 1, followed by Kim Ji Won at No. 2.

The drama's villain, Park Sung Hoon, owns the sixth spot.

Kwak Dong Yeon sits at No. 8, and veteran actress Lee Mi Sook joins them at No. 10.

'Queen of Tears' Special Broadcast

Now that the series has already finished its episodes, fans and viewers can still see the drama's lead cast members this May 4 and 5 as tvN will release two special episodes of "Queen of Tears."

The episodes are expected to be filled with interesting questions from the viewers that the cast will try to answer.
