Jang Ki Yong To Star in Fantasy-Romance 'The Atypical Family'
It's been almost three years since his last drama project, and this 2024, Jang Ki Yong will make his much-awaited comeback.
After Kim Soo Hyun brought laughter and tears to audiences through the smashing hit drama "Queen of Tear," Jang Ki Yong is the newest heartthrob to excite the viewers every weekend with "The Atypical Family."

The series tells the story of a family with superpowers who have lost their abilities due to a chronic disease common to modern people and a woman who becomes intertwined as if by fate.
"The Atypical Family" is said to bring warm emotions amidst cheerful laughter.
Jang Ki Yong, Chun Woo Hee's Tandem Garners Anticipation
Jang Ki Yong will meet the viewers with his new character Baek Jae Joo, a superhero, who lost his ability to time travel due to depression.
Joining him is Chun Woo Hee, who takes the character of Do Da Hae, a suspicious intruder in Jae Joo's life and family.
At the media press conference that happened on May 1, which was attended by the drama's lead stars and staff, expectations arose for the soon-to-debut on-screen partner for their chemistry as they will complete the inevitable and fateful narrative.
Jang Ki Yong Reveals What Attracts Him About 'The Atypical Family'
During the media interview, Jang Ki Yong confessed that he was attracted by the unique plot of the series. According to him:
"The content is as dynamic and interesting as its title. It shows a time slip of different resolutions and a salvation narrative."
He went on:
"In particular, if you slowly follow the emotions of restorationism, you will become immersed in the story. While feeling the emotions together. I hope you enjoy the story."
Expectations are also focused on Chun Woo Hee's performance, who plays the female protagonist. She shared:
"Our drama contains a message that gives hope to everyone. Even though they are not heroes, the characters' conflicts and efforts provide empathy and comfort to viewers."
Other stars to anticipate in the forthcoming series are Claudia Kim, Park So Yi, Go Doo Shim, Oh Man Seok, Ryu Abel, Kim Keum Soon, Roy, and more.
Catch Jang Ki Yong and Chun Woo Hee beginning May 4 on JTBC and Netflix at 10:30 p.m. (KST). Regular episodes will be available from Saturday to Sunday.
