Did You Know? YoonA Tried to Enter Acting Industry Before Becoming Idol

According to many, YoonA is the creator of the visual title. She turns heads every time she performs on stage or walks the red carpet. She captivates viewers' hearts with her acting.

However, before establishing her name in the business, like any other celebrity, YoonA did not have a smooth-sailing journey. From being rejected to receiving hate for poor acting, the SNSD singer went through it all.

YoonA appeared as a guest on the famous YouTube variety-talk show "Fairy Jaehyung," where she shared stories about her life and career, as well as before she reached stardom.

In the early days of her career, the "Big Mouth" actress revealed that she went through more than 100 auditions. Before debuting as an idol, she had been trying her luck to make it into the acting industry.

"I auditioned a lot before my debut. I auditioned for commercials, movies, and dramas about 200 times in total. Some of them I got accepted to, and some I got rejected from."

She added that there were times when she auditioned for the same commercial more than five times.

"I fail every time, but if I go here again, will they already pick me?"

Thankfully, her hard work paid off and was chosen to do the commercial.

YoonA Heavily Criticized for Bad Acting

It was then her acting career began to blossom. After her idol debut, she appeared in the drama "You Are My Destiny" at the age of 19.

Remembering those days, YoonA said that since she was too young, there were things that she found difficult to portray. Despite the challenge in the project, she was grateful as she finally had her first starring role.

She then rose to stardom and started to receive more works and had the opportunity to appear in major works. Finally, she landed roles and started working with other big names in the field.

When the "King the Land" actress finally made it to acting, she was heavily criticized for bad acting in the series "Cinderella Man," "Love Rain," and even her Chinese works like "God of War, Zhao Yun." Others also called her "talentless visual".

However, as YoonA found the fuel for her passion for acting, her acting improved in each work, and later on got nominated and won multiple awards. Some of her works even became blockbuster hits!

In 2023, she headlined the romantic-comedy K-drama "King the Land" with fellow idol and real-life friend Lee Junho.

YoonA currently has no reported upcoming series or movie, although the idol-actress is busy meeting her fans in different parts of the world.
