The actor appeared as a guest on the YouTube channel "Now with Baek Ji Yeon," where he talked about his upcoming projects, which include the hit Netflix original series. 

Other than the "Squid Game" season 2 update, Lee Jung Jae's appearance fee also became the center of attention, with outlets speculating that he is now among the highest-paid K-drama actors. 

Prior to the Netflix series, the 51-year-old actor had cemented his name in the Korean industry with a slew of notable and award-winning movies and K-dramas under his name. 

However, Lee Jung Jae received global fame after portraying the role of Seong Gi Hun in "Squid Game."

Interestingly, as director Hwnag Dong Hyuk confirmed the renewal of the thriller survival game, the top star is among the original cast members who will be returning to season 2.

As the South Korean top star dropped updates regarding the much-awaited sequel, what struck the media's attention the most was Lee Jung Jae's appearance fee.

The budget also includes the talent fees of the actors, with Lee Jung Jae reportedly being paid 1 million USD or about 1.3 billion KRW per episode.

As mentioned by a separate outlet, the top star received "the highest guarantee ever for a domestic actor."

Since season 2 reportedly has 10 episodes, this leaves Lee Jung Jae earning 10,000,000 USD just in the second season alone. Meanwhile, the expected appearance fee for Lee Jung Jae is estimated to be $13 million, or 7.134 billion KRW, for season 3, given that it has 13 episodes in total. 

However, netizens fully support the figures, noting that the top star deserved the figures. 

While some pointed out that the figures were not questionable since he is the lead star of "Squid Game," there are others who mentioned that it's nothing compared to the revenue that Netflix received from the success of the K-drama.
