RAIN Shares How His Late Mother ‘Helped’ Him Meet Kim Tae Hee: ‘She Made Me Have A Good Wife’

RAIN talked about the two most important women in his life, his wife Kim Tae Hee and his late mother.

Showcasing his deep affection for these great women, the singer-actor recalled the final moments with his mother and how he thinks it was connected to being Kim Tae Hee's husband.

During his appearance on Shin Dong Yup's YouTube channel to promote his K-drama comeback, "Red Swan," the top star recalled his life being with his mother.

In his previous interviews, he mentioned living life in poverty as a kid and starving for multiple days because they have no food at home.

Furthermore, just years after RAIN's debut in the industry, his mother's health worsened, and she died in December 2000 due to complications with diabetes.

Why RAIN Thinks His Mother Helped Him Meet Kim Tae Hee?

During his interview with Shin Dong Yup, he admitted that he felt "regret" whenever he recalled his mother.

"I thought I shouldn't talk about my family anymore, but whenever I remember it, I regret it. I wish I could at least treat my mother to food with the money I earned."

As the interview continues, the "Ghost Doctor" star mentions the final moments with his mother.

According to him, two weeks before she died, he cooked seaweed soup for her and recalled how she enjoyed it.

RAIN mentioned his mother, saying, "My son made it for me," referring to the soup and mentioned that he "knew it was the last time."

"There are so many things I haven't been able to do for my mother since then."

The "Full House" star also added that if he would ever meet her in an afterlife, his mother would be so proud of him and would probably say:

"Don't you know my talented son?"

RAIN also thought that his mother led him to meet his wife, Kim Tae Hee.

"She is helping me

She made me have such a good wife and a happy family."

In 2013, rumor sparked that Kim Tae Hee and RAIN were dating.

At the time, the duo were among the most sought-after celebrities, with a huge fan base. Sparks flew when the duo first met on the set of a commercial shoot for e-commerce company back in October 2011.

After years of dating, the celebrity couple announced their engagement and officially got married in January 2017.

RAIN and Kim Tae Hee were blessed with two beautiful daughters, aged 6 and 4.
