Viewers will be seeing Song Joong Ki and Han Hyo Joo in one drama as the South Korean heartthrob officially joins "Romantic Anonymous."
Based on the French-Belgian movie of the same name, the upcoming series will showcase creative talents not just in South Korea but also across the globe.
Following the confirmation of Han Hyo Joo as the main cast member, fellow top star Song Joong Ki will also be joining the rom-com.
In an exclusive report by a local media outlet, Song Joong Ki has wrapped up filming his scenes after flying to Japan.
The news was confirmed by his agency, HighZium Studio, announcing that the "Reborn Rich" star will have a special role in the upcoming drama.
What to Expect in 'Romantics Anonymous'?
Helmed by the renowned Japanese director Tsukikawa Sho, who was behind Netflix's "Yu Yu Hakusho," or as some would know, "Ghost Fighter," his upcoming series, "Romantic Anonymous," promises to entertain viewers with a delightful mix of humor and romance.
The upcoming Japanese rom-com will highlight the journey of a man and a woman who were blinded by their love for chocolates.
Interestingly, other than their passion for sweets, the two are also living with anxiety disorders.
Japanese actor Ogori Shun, who plays the role of Sosuke Fujiwara, is the son of a confectionery magnate. In addition to this, he is also a representative of the popular chocolate shop "Le Sauveur."
Behind his almost perfect life, he suffers from a disorder called germophobia, or an extreme fear of germs, and displays an obsession with cleanliness. This is caused by a traumatic past that affects his new job.
Meanwhile, Han Hyo Joo plays the gifted chocolatier Hana Lee. Behind her beautiful face, she hides her identity due to her fear of social interactions.
Adding to the list of cast members is "Onihei Hankacho" star Yuri Nakamura, who will play the character of renowned psychologist and author, Irene, while Jin Akanishi joins as bar owner, Hiro Takada, who has secret feelings for Hana Lee.
As "Romantic Anonymous" has completed its cast lineup, the report mentioned that the production is now in full swing and scheduled to release it in 2025, exclusively on Netflix.
Other than the cameo, Song Joong Ki is reportedly returning to the small screen after "Reborn Rich."
Following his back-to-back movie projects, the South Korean star will be making his K-drama comeback through the melodrama "My Youth."
He is in talks to headline the series, penned by "Run On" writer Park Shi Hyun and helmed by "Yumi's Cells" director Lee Sang Yeob.
