Lee Je Hoon Shares Preparations for His Movie Comeback 'Escape'

Known for his brilliant works such as "Taxi Driver," "Signal," and "Chief Detective 1958," Lee Je Hoon is one of the top actors who has been receiving much love and recognition today.

He is preparing for the release of his new movie "Escape," along with outstanding actors Koo Kyo Hwan and Hong Sa Bin.

The film features a life-threatening chase between a North Korean soldier who started escaping for tomorrow and an officer of the National Security Agency who chases after the soldier to protect.

Lee Je Hoon takes the role of Gyu Nam, a North Korean soldier.

According to the male star, working on this project was challenging. He found filming the running scenes most difficult. After seeing the final product, he didn't regret pushing himself much to perfect the scenes and it is a project he is proud of.

Part of his preparations are dieting as he needed to be in shape for his role, and learning the North Korean accent. Thanks to his colleagues who were there to guide him, Lee Je Hoon was able to bring his soldier character to life.

As the interview went on, Lee Je Hoon revealed that as he read the script for "Escape," he was able to reflect on himself as an ordinary person and as an actor.

He said that Gyu Nam's challenge for what he wants resembles Lee Je Hoon.

"When I told my family and people around me that I wanted to challenge myself to become an actor. The majority of them were worried." As he navigates his path as an actor, Lee Je Hoon finds it difficult to achieve his dream. But due to his passion and perseverance, he's able to fulfill his goal and is now one of the most brilliant actors in his generation.

While pursuing acting, Lee Je Hoon shared the struggles he experienced, "It's hard to explain myself without movies in my life. It's hard to imagine what kind of life I will live in the future."

He went on, "Work doesn't just give you happiness. It's often difficult and painful. However, no matter what trials and despair it brings, I want to approach the utopia of the path I chose to walk on."

Meanwhile, Lee Je Hoon's "Escape" is scheduled to hit the big screen this July 3.
