Hwang Jung Eum Wants Husband To Return the Money Worth Over 600K USD
Earlier this year, the actress' rocky marriage with Lee Young Don had been making headlines and rounds on social media.
Four months after the news broke regarding her attempt to end her marriage, a YouTube channel dropped a surprising update regarding the couple's divorce proceedings.
The channel "Behind Master" mentioned on its June 25 broadcast that the actress has filed a civil lawsuit against Lee Young Don.
In Hwang Jung Eum's divorce case, "The Escape of the Seven" star wants her husband to return the money worth 900 million KRW (more than 640,000 USD) that she lent him through a private corporation.

In addition, the "Behind Master" host mentioned that Hwang Jung Eum, who is facing a defamation case, has offered to pay the settlement money twice.
To recall, the actress accused an innocent woman of cheating with her husband and even posted it on her SNS.
In a now-deleted post, the actress posted a screenshot of a non-celebrity's photo along with a caption that reads:
"Ugly girl, please marry Young Don. Can't he just divorce me and go to Bangkok?"
However, that didn't stop there, as Hwang Jung Eum revealed the reason she posted it on her SNS.
"Will you please marry my husband? There is only one reason why I am posting this here.
Young Don, who ran away from home, please divorce me before you go to Thailand."
As a result, Hwang Jung Eum's legal counsel said that the reason the actress "cannot give the settlement money as a lump sum" is because of insufficient cash available.
Meanwhile, the actress' agency, Y1 Entertainment, briefly responded to the issue and confirmed that Hwang Jung Eum has indeed "filed a civil lawsuit," but did not give further details regarding the divorce case.
This is her second time announcing divorce against Lee Young Don, a pro golfer and business owner.
The first was in 2020, three years after they welcomed their first child.
At the time, a source mentioned through a news outlet that the actress visited the Seongnam branch of the Suwon District Court to file a divorce.
However, they were able to resolve their marital issues and got reunited in July 2021.
A year later, Hwang Jung Eum and her husband welcomed their second child.
