Ok Taecyeon is set to star in a daring role as the 2PM member confirms his appearance in the J-drama "Soulmate."
Showcasing his versatility as an artist and actor, portraying a variety of roles from male lead to villain, the South Korean heartthrob will headline an upcoming bromance drama also known as BL, or "Boy Love."
Following the news regarding the possible cast lineup, Netflix has confirmed that the 35-year-old actor will indeed join as one of the lead stars, along with Japanese actor Hayato Isomura. He is best known for his role in "Alice in Borderland" as Banda Sunato, who appeared in episodes 3, 4, and 8.
In addition to this, Hayato Isomura also starred in "Enjiya," "Aa, Love Hotel: Himitsu" season 2, Kamen Rider Ghost, and more.
Sports Chosun initially reported that he was selected to headline Netflix's J-drama "Soulmate," which tells the story of two men with different backgrounds.
In the upcoming series, the Japanese man named Ryu will meet the Korean boxer, Yo Han, in a series of unexpected incidents. During their 10-year-long friendship, the two have gotten closer, healing each other's pasts.
Interestingly, OK Taecyeon's new drama will showcase a different kind of bromance since the story will depict a relationship that goes beyond friendship.
Netflix Confirms Ok Taecyeon and Hayato Isomura's Appearance in 'Soulmate'
Shortly after the news regarding the possible team-up, Netflix officially confirmed that the 2PM member and Hayato Isomura would be headlining the highly anticipated series.
In addition to this, the streaking giant teased fans with the first look at the soon-to-be released series "Soulmate."
"Traversing the cities of Berlin, Seoul, and Tokyo, the series tells a 10-year-long love story between two young men. From writer and director Shunki Hashizume (Scroll, More Than Words)," the captain reads.
Interestingly, fans flocked to X, formerly Twitter, to express their excitement towards the upcoming series and see Ok Taecyeon in a mature and different character.
Meanwhile, as for the release of "Soulmate,officials have yet to announce the target debut date, but it will exclusively air on Netflix.
Ok Taecyeon Stars in the Zombie Apocalypse Series
Other than the upcoming Netflix series "Soulmate," Ok Taecyeon is booked and busy with back-to-back dramas.
He is also selected to headline the K-zombie series "Taereung Zombie Village," directed by Kim Min Ho of the movie "Unstoppable."
Slated to air sometime in 2024, the story depicts a group of young people who are trying to survive amid the chaotic zombie apocalypse.
