Among the projects he did revolved in genres of thriller, action, and crime, which is why he has solid acting chops.

However, despite the achievements he acquired through the years, there are genres he has been manifesting to do. And that is none other than romance.

K-drama fans have found out that Uhm Tae Goo has been manifesting to lead his rom-com drama since 2021, just like what the fans are wishing for the actor. His past interview resurfaced online where he revealed that he likes the romance genre and would like to act in a romantic series one day.

Uhm Tae Goo Fulfills His Dream to Lead Rom-Com Drama Through 'My Sweet Mobster'

Finally, after years of hoping, the award-winning actor landed his role in a rom-com drama. Uhm Tae Goo is currently appearing in JTBC's new rom-com series "My Sweet Mobster" also known as "Woman Who Plays With." It is based on the web novel "Playful Woman."

He takes the role of Seo Ji Hwan, a mobster-turned-CEO who hires ex-convicts to work at his company. Based on the synopsis, he is the stoic, no-nonsense type of man until he meets Go Eun Ha played by Han Sun Hwa, a content creator. Amid the hype of his new series, the actor participated in a photoshoot and interview, and talked about "My Sweet Mobster."

Uhm Tae Goo also shared his worries about taking on the role. "I've always wanted to star in a romantic comedy, but when I first received the script, I was worried. I thought I would suddenly be playing a very bright role without any intermediate steps. But the script was so interesting. I also liked the cuteness of the two characters."

Thankfully, the actor took the part as viewers are loving him so far. They hope "My Sweet Mobster" will give more opportunities for Uhm Tae Goo to showcase his charm and land more lead roles in the future.
