Beloved Actor Reveals Cancer Diagnosis in a Heartbreaking Video: 'For 8 days I Was so Anxious'

Korean actor Jang Geun Suk revealed in a YouTube video that he has been diagnosed with thyroid cancer.

The video, titled "Hello, this is Jang Geun Suk. I have something to confess," was released on August 16, KST.

In the video, Jang shared with his fans that he learned about the diagnosis a year ago but chose to keep it private. He explained, "I didn't want to cause shock by sharing it right away."

Jang underwent surgery two weeks ago and is currently recovering well. "I'm relieved to be able to talk about it. For eight days, I was so anxious that I avoided anything that could harm my body," he mentioned.

The 36-year-old actor also shared his plans to take a break and recover by going on vacation to Jeju Island.

Jang Geun Suk is known for his roles in TV dramas and movies. He was recently featured as a participant on the Netflix reality show "The Influencer."

The comment section of the YouTube video was filled with messages from fans expressing their concern for the actor within hours of the video's upload.
