Choi Jun Hee shared her feelings of sadness and disappointment on Instagram regarding a medical diagnosis that resulted in an unnecessary surgery after her late mother, Choi Jin Sil's misfortune.
Choi shared via Instagram stories on August 28 that she recently had surgery for an artificial joint following a misdiagnosis at a hospital in Shinchon area.

She mentioned that her health issue of necrosis was initially thought to be linked to diet-related inflammation but later discovered that the actual underlying condition was lupus, a chronic autoimmune ailment she has been grappling with.
Choi shared her account of what happened to her after the misdiagnosis. She was told to steer clear of physical activity and was given steroid injections along with physical therapy and antibiotics to follow a treatment plan despite her pain getting worse as she grappled with her mental well-being.
"But the pain has intensified over the few days and its been really tough for me to go out and stay positive," Choi expressed in writing as she described her worsening health condition.
She decided to seek another perspective from an orthopedic center and learned that her pelvic necrosis had advanced further than expected and that the medication she had previously been given might have made matters worse.
When questioned about her experience at the hospital, Choi recounted, "I mentioned receiving a steroid injection and antibiotics."
She said that the doctors were alarmed and commented on the worsening of pelvic necrosis with steroid use. "What kind of hospital delves into your history, like that?" they exclaimed in disbelief. Choi ended up needing joint surgery.
"They told me surgery was the option at stage 4, " she explained before having the procedure done.
Choi's honest updates have stirred worry and outrage among her community members, who are showing compassion and dissatisfaction with the perceived lack of attentiveness she faced.
