Kim Ji Won and Kim Soo Hyun’s “Queen of Tears” has become the most viewed Korean content on Netflix.
Reports from a week ago stated that the show has accumulated 29 million views and ranked among the top 10 non-English shows on the streaming platform. Debuting early in 2024, “Queen of Tears” has attracted much attention not only from the Korean public but also from the foreign audience.
The show beat other South Korean dramas and ranked 14th in viewing hours for all Netflix content this year. It followed big names such as “Bridgerton” and “Fool Me Once,” which gained first and second places in viewing hours.
Social media also shows that the show has attracted significant attention from the audience. People are admiring the plot and actors’ performances.
"Queen of Tears deserves the hype, the ratings, the engagements, the awards, and the success!" said one of the fans.
There is still much left of the story, and the chain of events has already made users emotionally attached to the characters. The statistics also demonstrate that the show has caused a significant increase in viewing on Netflix.
For the first six months of the year, it already collected 682.6 million viewing hours. There are only two bigger shows: Bridgerton’s third season with 733.8 million hours and “Fool Me Once,” which took 689.5 million hours.
As it is the last quarter of the year, it will be interesting to see what year “Queen of Tears” has ahead.
