K-pop star TWICE member Dahyun will be making her acting debut in the new drama Love Me. World Biz Well Sports World unveiled the announcement on November 5.
In "Love Me," Dahyun, reportedly, will play the role of Yoon Sol, a dance crew leader. She's portrayed as a popular and reliable character who seamlessly manages her relationships and career.
Drawing from a Swedish series of the same name, the drama dives into topics of isolation and romance, telling the story of a woman who seemingly has it all—alluding to wealth, fortune, and good looks—while searching for an answer as something seems missing.
The script of Love Me is written by Park Eun-young and Park Hee-kwon, who previously worked on JTBC's The Third Charm and Tving's I Just Haven't Done My Best Yet. Production is set to begin in early 2022.
This role is a big career change for Dahyun, who has primarily focused on music up to this point.
She confirmed her role in the independent feature Full-Sprint and took on her first lead role in Back in the Days, the Girl We Loved, earlier this year.
That latter performance earned her a slot in the 29th Busan International Film Festival.
Dahyun has been in TWICE since the group started back in 2015. The group has grown into a K-pop powerhouse with tracks such as "TT," "LIKEY," and "Feel Special.
"TWICE's album "With YOU-th," released in February, topped the Billboard 200 earlier this spring. They are set to release their new album "STRATEGY" on December 6.
Dahyun is making her acting debut through the drama as Yoon Sol, and she must feel great pressure to perform.
Given her background in dance and performance, fans are excited to see how she embodies this new character.
