While playing an entertaining round of When I Have a Chance for the recent episode of SBS's entertainment program, actor Ji Chang Wook revealed his unique method of shopping for collectibles.
In his episode, Ji proudly shared that he recently spent 260,000 won (around $220) on a Pokémon T-shirt, showing how much he loves to purchase items directly.
Ji Chang-wook's role was his interest in things in the 11th episode of the series, which began broadcasting on November 10.
He said with a gleeful smile, "I also bought the Pokémon Tibutibuseal collection at Carrot for 260,000 won a while ago," and immediately his co-stars and the studio audience burst into laughter.
Not only did it reveal his playful nature but an insight into the extremes he would go to for rare finds.
Things turned out funny when Ji revealed that he had also purchased a special game skin coupon through a direct transaction for 120,000 won.
Another cast member, Yoo Yeon Seok, reacted in disbelief to Ji's decision to purchase 30,000 won worth of the item, even though it's a thing that usually has a minimum purchase.
"You buy a gift for someone who spends over 50,000 won 120,000 won?" Yoo asked incredulously.
Ji nodded enthusiastically as if this were the most normal thing ever, and the audience lost it with laughter.
This was not the only scene in which Ji acted playfully, mimicking his shenanigans with products he bought.
He additionally dished out sensible shopping tips to viewers. He advised that when dealing with apps, people should always do direct transactions not to be caught by the scheme, reminding everyone to be cautious when buying or selling things online.
In his lighthearted style of dispensing advice, he shared a funny story: "When I make a direct transaction, the other person often asks, 'Why are you buying this?' but I just say that I like games."

The format of the show is about enjoying the little things in life, and Ji's have been the most entertaining.
The program has been building in ratings, with its highest-rated numbers yet - a 3.1% share in the metro area and a 1.2% of viewers in 2049. This accomplishment highlights the rapport Ji manages to build with his fellow cast — including a few fan favorites in hosts Yoo Jae-suk and Yoo Yeon-Seok — in which the program thrives.
Ji Chang Wook continued to make the audience laugh as the episode went on. Previously, Yoo Yeon Seok noted having once seen a 120-year-old olive tree that had a price tag of 50 million won, to which Ji quickly interjected, asking how one could even confirm that.
Yoo reveals his own second-hand dealings, paying deference to Ji's suspiciousness with facts. That exchange not only illustrated their camaraderie but also his desire for authenticity in what he buys.
But the playful vibes changed when Ji vented about the show's game task. He said candidly: "This touches on people's gambling nature. It touches on people's desires and frustrates them."
The production team laughed at his surprise experience-insight, showing Ji is a master of comic bits with actual substance.
Fans will get to see more of Ji Chang Wook's daring antics when episode 12 of Whenever You Have a Chance airs on November 12 at 10:20 p.m.
