Korean Wave star Bae Yong Joon recently opened up about a cringe-worthy dating rumor with fellow stars Song Hye Kyo and Lee Ji Ah.
In a recent interview, the 51-year-old star who shot to fame after the success of the hit 2002 drama "Winter Sonata," which triggered the Korean Wave across Asia, discussed his insights.
Bae, nicknamed "Yonsama," pointed out how a casual meeting with Song Hye Kyo spurred speculation he had started courting her.
Bae had been in the middle of a media firestorm in 2010 after a reporter incorrectly identified Lee Ji Ah as his date after a night of drinking wine with colleagues. He was linked to Song Hye Kyo the day after his headlines.
Bae joked that when he first found out about the mix-up, he called Song to tease, "I guess you're really invisible," causing both of them to burst into laughter.
Bae Yong Joon has paid less and less attention to acting in recent years and has smoothly transitioned into the business world, although he has made investments in many startups since 2015.
He is an entrepreneur with interests that include a stake in OneLifeOneTechnology and SD Biotechnology.
Currently, Bae is living in Hawaii with his wife, Park Soo-jin, where they are raising their two children.
