Actress Chae Rim has finally responded to allegations that she stopped her ex-husband — Chinese actor Gao Ziqi — from seeing their son.
On November 14, Chae Rim made headlines after sharing a very frank post on her social media, revealing her anger over supposed false accusations about her parenting choices.
When reports came out that Chae Rim had prevented Gao from having contact with their son, even changing the child's last name to her name, all hell broke loose.
Chae Rim replied, "This is so intolerable and unendurable... I am gonna leave this kind of writing to the next generation?"
She described the media as peddling "ridiculous false stories" about the nature of her relationship with Gao and their son.
In her post, Chae Rim points to the couple's rocky history, including their 2014 marriage and 2020 divorce.
She stressed that her priority is their son, Minwoo, and that any decisions made concerning his well-being were in his best interest.
On the 13th, Gao Ziqi also posted on social platforms, saying that he misses his son. He said he'd do everything he could to maintain the relationship while noting, "I wished I could go to Korea and be with him for his birthday."
Gao posted on Weibo thanking fans for their concern and interest in his son.
During a recent episode of SBS Plus's "Solo," Chae Rim shared the news that Minwoo saw his dad for the first time in seven years.
She then spoke about the value of a father-son relationship: "My number one priority is my son Minwoo... my son said [he] wanted to see his dad, so I said, 'Let's have dad come."
