At the center of talking points, actress Ha Yeon Soo addressed the almost constant rumors of her retirement on the December 11 airing of MBC's Radio Star.
Star News Korea reported that the 30-year-old actress, who initially established herself in hit dramas such as Monster and Rich Man, clarified claims she was now "jobless" amid speculation about her career.
When Ha disappeared from the entertainment scene recently, suspicions were ignited—particularly when, in 2022, her profile was taken down from a global portal site, and it was reported that she had relocated to Japan.
The actress did, however, make it clear she is not leaving the industry. "Please contact me," she said, indicating that she is open to new opportunities and eager to continue her career.
Ha also opened up about her Japanese debut, which has fueled speculation that she'd be a nude model.
She made headlines last April when she appeared in photos in Japan's Weekly Young Magazine that many believed teased a still possible gravure modeling career.
However, Ha denied this and said the magazine misrepresented her work.
"Several comic magazines sometimes feature actors, announcers, and idols in a few pages," explained Ha.
The title that implied she would be making her "gravure debut" was misleading, and she explained that her intention was strictly professional.
"I had a hard time because of this misunderstanding," she said as she explained the cultural differences of which terms are common in which countries led to this misunderstanding.
Ha Yeon Soo began her career as a cosmetics model before appearing on television in the film Temperature of Love in 2013.
She has since established herself as a household face in South Korean dramas and films over the years.
Even with all the recent challenges she has been through, including speculation about her career-stopping behaviors, Ha remains optimistic about going back into the entertainment business.
Returning to television for "Radio Star" is the first step toward clearing up rumors and restoring her status as an actress.
While fans eagerly wait for more news of her future works, Ha Yeon Soo has made it very clear she isn't hanging up her acting hat just yet.
