Kim Sae Ron's family has responded to allegations stemming from a recently released video that purportedly shows the actress engaging in romantic behavior with a man other than actor Kim Soo Hyun.
The video—which was uploaded by controversial YouTuber Lee Jin Ho—allegedly reveals Kim Sae Ron's dating history, which doesn't align with her previous comments about her romantic timeline.
In a video released on April 9, Lee Jin Ho presented clips allegedly showing Kim Sae Ron with an ex-boyfriend, including scenes of them walking hand in hand and sharing a kiss, although the faces in the footage are blurred.
Lee claimed that metadata from the video indicates it was taken on May 27, 2019, suggesting that both Kim Sae Ron and Kim Soo Hyun were involved with different partners at that time.
"Let's first take a look at the photos of Kim Sae Ron with her partner at that time. Some may argue that holding hands with a friend doesn't necessarily prove they were in a relationship," Lee said. "To clarify that this was a date, I have decided to reveal a scene
where they can clearly be seen as a couple."
Kim Sae Ron's family categorically denied these claims in a statement to Sports Kyunghyang on April 10. They claimed Kim had been with a female friend the night of the disappearance and called her mother by 1 a.m. that morning to prove it.
They further claimed that her phone contained images and videos from that evening.
This backlash comes after Kim Sae Ron's family previously filed a lawsuit against Lee Jin Ho, resulting in a legal ban against him discussing the actress.
