One of the best parts of "God's Gift - 14 Days" is watching the growing collaboration between Lee Bo Young and the former policeman played by Jo Seung Woo. He's a character who is more moral than he will admit and Lee Bo Young inspires him to reclaim some of his principles.
When the drama began, the actress confessed that she admired him as an actor.
"I have always been his fan," said Lee Bo Young.
How much do you know about this actor who is most famous for his films and musicals? Here are some facts.
1. Having grown up in a musical family, he assumed he would also become a singer. His father and older sister are both singers. But an audition for an Im Kwon Taek film also set him on another path. He has performed in musicals such as Hedwig and the Angry Inch" and "Jekyll and Hyde" and balanced his career with appearances in films such as "Tazza," "The Classic" and "Marathon."
2. When he appeared in the musical "Jekyll and Hyde" after leaving the army, he was paid the highest salary ever in a Korean musical. Although his salary amount was controversial, it was worth it to the producers. The demand for tickets was so high that it broke the ticket seller's server in a matter of minutes.
3. He and actor Ryu Deok Hwan played conjoined twins in "The Peach tree," a film that actress Gu Hye Sun directed. He read her book "Magic" and could not put it down. Nor could he forget it.
"I could not erase the impression from my head," he said. "The book was unique."
At the same time he received the script and again had the same reaction, wanting to read it straight through to the end. He had to do the film and wound up also praising her skills as a director.
4. He did not make his first drama appearance until 2012 when he played a character based on an actual Joseon-era veterinarian in the drama "Horse Doctor."
Why had he skipped dramas?
"I didn't act in dramas because I heard that you don't get to sleep or eat."
He decided to do "Horse Doctor" partly because his fans asked him to be in a drama.
5. He stays in touch with Kim Junsu of JYJ, who is also a musical actor and has helped mentor the younger performer in his stage career.
Junsu values his advice. During an interview with Osen, Kim Junsu also said, "I truly hope that one day I'm able to stand on the same stage with Senior Jo Seung Woo."
You can see the actor shine in "God's Gift - 14 Days."
