Apple iWatch release date and rumors are afloat on the Net as consumers expect the smartwatch to be released in unison with the iPhone 6. The combination would serve a number of fitness and health tracking apps and the healthbook.

In a first of its kind trade show in Las Vegas, the CES 2014 was the year of fitness trackers. And a number of them were launched at CES2014, i.e. Sony, Samsung Galaxy.

But you can bet that others like Misfit Shine are specializing on features like accurate biometric data, quality features, and style. So there's going to be even more competition from fitness devices that have most of the functionalities of the smart watch - maybe leaving some of the connectivity with a smart phone.

Some smartwatch rumors suggest products from Asus, Nike, LG, Microsoft, and Pebble are in the works or in the market along with Apple leading the pack .

Google's Android Watch released recently is the first smartwatch offering that offers its own OS. According to Apple iWatch rumors a launch from Cupertino's camp could be as early as in the second half of this year. Most reports say that it launch with the iPhone 6.

One report, however, said that if Apple does not release the iWatch within 60 days, the product will lose its relevance. Perhaps a sign that there are too many rivals on the markets so that the iWatch may lose its selling point ahead of most of its competition, which could include fitness devices. For instance, Samsung Gear Fit was released recently with a stylish design and has most of the functionalities that a smartwatch might have.
