HTC received plenty of critical acclaim for its boldly styled HTC One flagship handset. In particular its luxurious aluminium chassis, capable display and fast performance earned it high review scores from across the web.
We now know after a leak from the Carphone Warehouse the handset will in fact be called the HTC One M8.
The HTC One M8 isn't expected to change much from the HTC One's design with its aluminium unibody. Pictures have leaked allegedly showing the rear panel which looks pretty much the same as the original device, it doesn't even feature a port for the HTC One Max's fingerprint scanner, suggesting it's unlikely HTC will continue such capabilities.
This video is detailed enought to reveal what the M8 is about.
It also gives us a clue about the chasis and the M8 build. Made from aluminum, it is a bit heavier than the HTC One. You can bet that this new version of the HTC One will expand on the specs, features, and highlights of its predecessor. And you don't have to expect any new features.
To put it short, if you love your HTC One, then you're bound to get the next version of the HTC One 2.
The new display comes with on-screen controls.HTC One M8 is that it'll be fitted with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core chip, an upgrade from the HTC One's Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor.
Looking at the camera, reports say that the M8 will carry the 4MP ultrapixel setup, which might be a bummer since users might be looking for somethng a bit more outstanding. However, a number of leaked photos suggest that there are dual camera on this camera feature.
Reports say that while the HTC One comes with a JellyBeam 4.3, known to carry several errors, while the new M8 will carry the Android .4.4 KitKat, loaded - this will make consumers happy.
Knowyourmobile writes, "While HTC is planning to update the HTC One to Android 4.4 KitKat, at present it runs on Android Jelly Bean with the Sense 5 UI, which has been updated to Sense 5.5. The HTC One M8 is thought to ship with Android 4.4 KitKat already installed and it's said to feature a new HTC Sense 6 overlay.
The report adds, "Not long now until the announcement of the HTC One M8. When it is announced on March 25, it will then be available from the Carphone Warehouse in a number of London stores. The stores are Westfield Stratford, Westfield White City, Oxford Circus, Centrepoint and Tottenham Court Road. Finally it will be available from Selfridges in the Carphone Warehouse section."
An updated processor, a larger display and a dual camera will put it in good stead to be better than the original HTC One. A load of other general tweaks, Android KitKat and Sense 6 will bring it up to date."
It looks like the M8 will be an incremental launch rather than a major milestone for the Taiwanese firm.
