HTC One 2 (M8) aka HTC One Up release date is just a couple of days away.
It is one of the best smartphones to compete against the Samsung Galaxy S5 and Apple iPhone 6, the big names in this year’s all the high-end devices will hit the market this year.
The HTC One, the precursor to the One Up won the 'Best Smartphone of 2013' award at MWC2014 in Barcelona.
Both HTC One 2 and Samsung Galaxy S5 will unveil during the same time frame, and the two will have to battle for market share in the smartphone market. The iPhone 6 is expected to make its entry into the same market during the second half of the year.
The HTC One (M8) is scheduled for release on March 25, in London. Just a few days away from launch, retailer Carphone Warehouse announced that the M8 is slated to hit the shelves “minutes” following the unveiling, at 4pm.
Since there has not been any news from other retailers, it may be that Carphone Warehouse has a deal with HTC for a brief period of time.
HTC has a well thought out strategy toward promoting its new flagship ahead of the Samsung & Apple’s plans for launch of their new smartphones.
Samsung Galaxy S5 is a typical release because it is launched weeks after an announcement. Though the S5 was announced during late February, it looks like the Galaxy S5 will go on sale after the HTC M8 after all.
In the latest leak from NowhereElse.fr, French tech website, the HTC One Up was described as having a 5-inch 1080p HD display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.26-GHz combined with 2GB of RAM.
The smartphone also touts a 16-megapixel Ultrapixel camera similar to the existing version, notes NowhereElse.fr. However, the site does not talk about the number of Ultrapixels the sensor will have.
