Fans should be excited to know that there are news updates for "Prometheus 2."
The Latin Post reports that "Prometheus 2" will allegedly begin production fall of this year and is scheduled for a March 4, 2016 release date.
In the ending of "Prometheus," which was the prequel to Ridley Scott's 1979 film "Alien," a creature that resembled Xenomorph bursted out of an Engineer's chest.
This scene will reportedly play a crucial role in the development of the sequel's story.
According to a news update by Bleeding Cool, Michael Fassbender will play multiple David 8 synthetics.
The writer for "Green Lantern" and "Gotham," Michael Green, will be working on the script for "Prometheus 2."
He will reportedly be working off a draft by Jack Paglen after having apparently pleased Ridley Scott with his "Blade Runner" spin-off.
Green has also worked on "Smallville" and "Heroes." He's repped by big names including WME and 3 Arts Entertainment.
The Wrap has reported that the tone of the sequel will be much more like "Alien" than "Prometheus."
Although specific plot details are being kept under wraps, Cinemablend speculates that it will focus on Dr. Elizabeth Shaw, played by Noomi Repace, as she travels with the functioning head of David using an Engineer spacecraft to the alien planet.
As fans wait for more news updates and mark their calendars for the release date for "Prometheus 2," some weren't too enthusiastic about working on the film.
The writers of the first film, Jon Spaihts and Damon Lindelof, detached themselves from the project.
Lindelof stated, "The thing about Prometheus was it was a rewrite. Jon Spaihts wrote a script and I rewrote it and still it was a year of my life that I spent on Prometheus, kind of all in."
The writer continued, "The idea of building a sequel to it - from the ground up this time - with Ridley is tremendously exciting. But at the same time, I was like 'Well that's probably going to be two years of my life.' I can't do what J.J. Abrams does. I don't have the capability. I'm usually very single-minded creatively. I can only be working on one thing at a time."
More "Prometheus 2" news updates and release date information will come your way shortly!
