Lee Byung Hun, who had roles in two previous Hollywood blockbuster sequels, has signed a deal to appear in a third. Lee previously played Storm Shadow in "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra" and the sequel "G.I. Joe: Retaliation." He also played Han Jo Bae in "Red 2," with co-stars Bruce Willis, Helen Mirren and Mary-Louise Parker.
Next, he will appear in "Terminator: Genesis" with actor and former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. There is no word yet on which role Lee Byung Hun will play but rumors say that it will be big. Some rumors suggest that he will play a new kind of Terminator sent back to kill Sarah Connor.
"Game of Thrones" actress Emilia Clarke will play Sarah Connor and Jason Clarke of "The Closer" will be John Conner. Also in the cast are Jai Courtney, J.K. Simmons, Sandrine Holt, Michael Gladis, and "Hunger Games" star Dayo Okeniyi.
"Terminator: Genesis" is the fifth film in the Terminator franchise but it will be the first in a stand-along trilogy. It has been called a "rebooted" Terminator movie but it will also revisit scenes from the first and second Terminator movies.
Schwarzenegger recently released some details about the film, saying that it deals a lot with time travel and there will be a younger T-800 cyborg that gets reprogrammed. In these films the T-800 and its later models are almost invincible cyborgs that are programmed as assassins. The film will also explore the perils of robot aging, which is ironic because Schwarzenegger has aged some since the first film in 1984.
In an interview on MTV, the 66-year-old actor said, "The way that the character is written, it's a machine underneath. It's this metal skeleton. But above that is human flesh. And the Terminator's flesh ages, just like any other human being's flesh. Maybe not as fast. But it definitely ages"
"Terminator: Genesis" begins filming in May and the film is expected to be in theaters on July 1, 2015. Alan Taylor, who directed "Thor: The Dark World" will direct. The director also worked on "Game of Thrones" and "The Sopranos."
Lee Byung Hun has not been idle in between his Hollywood films. He played Deok Gi in the k-movie "Memories of the Sword" with Jeon Do Yeon and Kim Go Eun. The film tells the story of three swordsmen, who lead an uprising during the Goryeo era.
