iPhone 6 surveys suggest that consumer waiting eagerly for their iPhone 6 are falling for the big screen-display on Apple's next flagship.

PCMag reports that a new survey from 451 Research's ChangeWave service, consumers are showing an "unprecedented level" of interest in the so-called iPhone 6, indicating Apple's next-generation smartphone could be an even bigger hit than the iPhone 5 and iPhone 5s ."

Even in a March survey of 4,109 respondents said from a primarily North American survey, 40 percent said they were interested in purchasing the iPhone 6 once it was released.

"This is the highest level of demand for an unannounced Apple model in a ChangeWave survey - stronger than we've seen in previous years for the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5 models prior to their announcements," Andy Golub of ChangeWave parent company 451 Research said in a statement. "Speculation over a larger screen iPhone is clearly striking a chord with consumers."

It is interesting to note, about 26 % of those surveyed ahead of the iPhone 5s roll out said they may buy it and 33 percent said they would buy the iPhone 5 after it was announced.

While there are some rumors that the second iPhone 6 variant at 5.5" screen is experiencing problems, consumers survey said they are looking to buy a phablet that has a minimum of a 5" display in the next 3 months.

The trend for big screens has been growing since December, 2013 from 40 to 47 percent, according to ChangeWave.

"With the Galaxy S5 hitting stores tomorrow, demand for Samsung devices is also on the rise, ChangeWave found. Twenty-eight percent of those who plan to buy a smartphone in the next 90 days said they'll purchase a Samsung, a 9 point increase since December. Still, 42 percent of planned smartphone buyers in North America have their eyes on an iPhone," reports PCMag
