Bryan Singer's scandal shocked many "X-Men Days of Future Past" fans because it is unlikely for a respected director to get involved with such a thing. He was accused of raping, drugging, and using his power to abuse a 17-year old boy.

The lawsuit was filed in Hawaii by Michael Egan, who claimed that he was only 17 when Singer sexually abused him. The Wrap was able to obtain documents of this lawsuit and it allegedly says:

"Defendant, BRYAN JAY SINGER, manipulated his power, wealth, and position in the entertainment industry to sexually abuse and exploit the underage Plaintiff through the use of drugs, alcohol, threats, and inducements which resulted in Plaintiff suffering catastrophic psychological and emotional injuries. Defendant Singer did so as part of a group of adult males similarly positioned in the entertainment industry that maintained and exploited boys in a sordid sex ring."

The Bryan Singer scandal also involved another big name in the movie industry. According to reports, the former chairman of Digital Entertainment Network, Marc Collins-Rector, introduced the "X-Men Days of Future Past" director to Michael Egan. The plaintiff said that Singer threatened him and sexually abused him for a period of time, which he did because he was promised a rewarding career.

Getting involved with Marc Collins-Rector wasn't a good sign because he pleaded guilty back in 2004 for child enticement. He admitted that he lured five minors across the state lines for sexual purposes.

According to the lawsuit:

"Collins-Rector ordered Plaintiff out of the pool, and Defendant Singer hugged Plaintiff and grabbed his bare buttocks. They then went to the jacuzzi where Collins-Rector had Plaintiff sit on his lap and fondled Plaintiff's genitals. Collins-Rector then passed Plaintiff to Defendant Singer and Plaintiff was made to sit on Defendant Singer's lap."

That was quite shocking if that really happened. Bryan Singer's lawyer thinks that the lawsuit was completely without merit. Martin Singer said, "We are very confident that Bryan will be vindicated in this absurd and defamatory lawsuit." He added, "It is obvious that this case was filed in an attempt to get publicity at the time when Bryan' s new movie is about to open in a few weeks."

Do you think the Bryan Singer scandal is true or was it just to ride on the publicity of "X-Men Days of Future Past"?
