In a recent interview with E! News, "Game of Thrones" actress Natalie Dormer described the rape scene between co-stars Lena Headey and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau as "pretty intense."
There is no denying that the rape scene was way over the top due to Cersei and Jaime, the characters of Headey and Coster-Waldau, having sex right next to the lifeless body of their son King Joffrey, played by Jack Gleeson. However, it could've been worse since the original sex scene was consensual in the book.
Although the depiction was shifted for TV, Dormer revealed that Headey had "mixed feelings" about the scene.
"I remember talking to her in the makeup trailer the day before she had to shoot that, she had mixed feelings about it for obvious reasons," said Dormer, who plays Margaery Tyrell, the widow of Joffrey. "But as an actor, those scenes are the ones you really get to sink your teeth into, so there's sort of a perverse enjoyment in exploring those really dramatic moments as well."
