Usher has a new album coming out this year! The singer is working on releasing his eighth studio album, his first since releasing Looking 4 Myself back in 2012. Since then, Usher has shifted his attention toward television and stars as a coach on NBC’s singing competition show, The Voice. He has worked on some collaborations, such as the Diplo-produced “Go Missin.” Usher released his first single “Good Kisser” from his upcoming eighth studio album, which is as-yet-untitled. The album is due out later this year on RCA.

In an interview with MTV last year, Usher described his new album as “everything you can imagine”, adding, that it’s “gonna be freaking out of here”. According to the Rap-Up, Usher was working with Jermaine Dupri, Bryan-Michael Cox, and Brian Alexander Morgan and on his eighth studio album, which will be “more R&B, more urban” than Looking 4 Myself.

While 2012’s Looking 4 Myself tended towards dubstep and electronica, Usher seems to be returning to his R&B roots. The song “Good Kisser” opens simple bassline, layered over salsa drums. The song is reminiscent of 90s R&B, like a slower version of Bell Biv DeVoe’s “Poison.” “I done been around the world, I done kissed a lot of girls so I’m guessing that it’s true,” he sings. “Don’t nobody kiss it like you, don’t nobody kiss it like you.” The song was co-written by Usher with Andrew “Pop” Wansel, Ronald “Flip” Colson, Jameel Roberts, Terry “Tru” Sneed, and Warren “Oak” Felder, andproduced by Pop, Flip, JProof, Terry “Tru” Sneed, Natural, and Oak according to the Rap-Up.

In the music video, Usher gets back to his smooth dancing ways, showing off his moves, as well as his shirtless body as he sits in front of a set of drums. Watch the music video and hear the song below, or purchase via iTunes!
