People have always wondered whatever happened to the star of "Pearl Harbor", but now their questions are answered as Josh Hartnett returns with a new TV show! Fans of the 35-year old actor have waited almost ten years to see him on screen again.
He may not appear in a big budget movie, but his comeback is better than that. Josh will star in Showtime's new series "Penny Dreadful", which means we will be seeing the former heartthrob every week. Isn't that sweet?
Josh Hartnett headlines the new spooky series alongside Eva Green and Timothy Dalton. Why spooky? Well the story of "Penny Dreadful" centers on the terrifying characters of Dracula, Dr. Frankenstein, and Dorian Gray. Imagine these characters come back to life. Must be quite scary, right?
During an interview by Indiewire, Josh Harntett's new TV show was the main topic. The Hollywood actor said, "We're aiming really high, and we hope that we achieve it. We hope that audiences follow us through. That's the fun of doing this show. If it was just something like that, I don't think any of these people would be that interested in being involved."
In a separate interview with Details magazine, the "40 Days and 40 Nights" actor revealed the reason why he disappeared during the peak of his career. Josh said, "I was on the cover of every magazine. I couldn't really go anywhere. I didn't feel comfortable in my own skin. I was alone. I didn't trust anyone."
The former screen heartthrob continued, "So I went back to Minnesota and got back together with my old friends -- ended up getting back together with my high school girlfriend for a while -- and I didn't do any filming for 18 months." He added, "I'm still finding my way through all that."
Known for being a ladies' man, Josh Hartnett revealed that he isn't into dating. He said, "If you're a ladies' man, that's what you do with your life -- always chasing. That's never been the case with me." The dashing actor revealed, "I've always just wanted a relationship. Otherwise there's nothing."
Awww, I'm sure the girls out there are gushing over the "Penny Dreadful" star now. Don't worry, the first episode of Josh Hartnett's new TV show will air on May 11. Here's a behind-the-scenes clip of "Penny Dreadful":
